One BW photo has this written in pencil on the back: "Eland with young at Chester Zoo. The young Eland was born during March 1965 and was the third to be born during this year. The herd of Eland now comprises eight animals. Gordon Kerr."
Another BW photo has this written in pencil on the back: "The baby Kudu soon after it arrived in February. It is now nearly twice as tall."

Named Kudu include Kwango/Quango (male), who was hand-reared.
One of the Red Lechwe photos is on a card with the following printed caption: "Red Lechwe have done well at Chester over the years, and we were honoured to receive a Meritorious Breeding Award form the Federation of Zoological Gardens of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on behalf of the Red Lechwe last year. A similar certificate was received for our Arabian Gazelle (Gazella arabica)."
